Steam
Today I remembered how I got my games and thought that I should post about where I get my high quality games from. I get my games from a site called steam. First you need to make an account. Steam is very easy to run and use compared to other gaming sights. Steam also has a community section made for sharing funny pictures and to tell your friends about how well you did during a game. Steam was created by a man named Gabe Newel I will talk more about him in another post. Steam also features all kinds of games. People can make their own games and post them on Steam, Steam obviously bets a percentage of how much the game makes. that is where I get my high quality games from.

what is steam?
ReplyDeleteSteam is an Internet-based digital distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation offering digital rights management (DRM), multiplayer, and social networking. Steam provides the user with installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, and community features such as friends lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality. The software provides a freely available application programming interface (API) called Steamworks, which developers can use to integrate many of Steam's functions into their products, including networking and matchmaking, in-game achievements, micro-transactions, and support for user-created content through Steam Workshop.
ReplyDeleteThough initially developed for use on Microsoft Windows, versions for OS X and Linux operating systems were later released. Chatting and shopping applications for iOS and Android mobile devices have also been written. The Steam website also replicates much of the storefront and social network features of the stand-alone application.
As of September 2015, over 6,400 games are available through Steam, including over 2,300 for OS X and 1,500 for Linux.[9] The service has over 125 million active[a] users.[11] Steam has had as many as 12.5 million concurrent users as of November 2015.[12] The Steam platform is considered to be the largest digital distribution platform for PC gaming; in November 2009, Stardock estimated it at 70%[13] and then later, in October 2013, it was estimated by Screen Digest that 75% of games bought online are downloaded through Steam.[14] The success of the Steam platform has led to the development of a line of Steam Machine micro-consoles and personal computers meeting minimum specifications, and SteamOS, a Linux-based operating system built around the Steam client.
